Visit with Himanshu Malhotra and Sabina Kidwai
Himanshu Malhotra is a documentary filmmaker specializing in the area of environmental and wildlife filmmaking. Born in Delhi in 1960, he was among the first students to complete his masters in Mass Communication from the York University-Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia at Delhi. Over the years, Himanshu has emerged as an expert director and cameraperson and is considered an authority on conservation, ecology, and health issues. Himanshu has many films to his credit, including a documentary on community-based tourism for an NGO Community Enterprise International Forum, and another on water harvesting for CEE, Ahmedabad. He also completed a film on the Ganga action plan for the Ministry of Environment & Forests to be shown to the Parliamentary Consultative Committee.
Sabina Kidwai teaches editing at AJK Mass Communication Research Center, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She completed post graduate work at the Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia. She has taken specialized training in Film Editing with Films Division, Delhi, as well as a course in production from CIRNEA in Paris. To her credit, Sabina has written for many research publications. She is a recipient of the Scholar of Peace Fellowship from Women in Security Conflict Management and Peace. Her work was published as “A Study on the Representation of Muslim Women in Media 1985-2001”. Sabina has worked as an editor on a number of documentaries and has directed a film on issues of identity titled “Shadows of Freedom” for the Public Service Broadcasting Trust, Delhi.
Both the film makers visited Kalpana Chawla Media Resource Center (KCMRC) in 2008 and gave three-day Digital Film Making workshops for the first time at the center. They recorded video interviews of the students and attended the first Udaan Community Film Festival organized by the Flying Birds of India group as chief guests.

Visit with Emma Languith
Emma Languith from England, UK visited Kalpana Chawla Media Resource Centre (KCMRC), Jafrabad and Flying Birds India group in 2009. She has been an intern with the organization for sometime. She taught the girls how to raise their voice for their rights. Emma has earned a degree in Film Appreciation in England.
Visit with Lisa Pellegrino
Lisa Pellegrino from Adelaide, Australia visited the Kalpana Chawla Media Resource Centre (KCMRC), Jafrabad and Flying Birds India group in 2008. She lived with the community for two weeks and experienced a new world. She taught the students how to improve their English-language writing and speaking skills during her workshops. She is a radio broadcaster/program presenter in Adelaide, Australia.
